Orchestra on the Hill set for April 28

AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn Community Orchestra (ACO) will be performing their spring concert, “Orchestra on the Hill,” as a celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. This concert is presented by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities (Pebble Hill) and the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center. This event will be held on Tuesday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Pebble Hill. Join ACO on the lawn for music and festivities as we honor this great milestone for our country!

The ACO is under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Dr. Russell (Rusty) Logan, a native of Wetumpka, AL who brings over 33 years of directing and conducting experience. Under his direction, the ACO will provide Auburn residents and visitors an expertly rehearsed and enthusiastically prepared concert at Pebble Hill.

ACO’s program will include the following:

  • Star Spangled Banner
  • Stephen Foster Melodies
  • Variations on A Shaker Melody
  • Pyramid Dances
  • Wood Notes: Singing River
  • South Pacific (Symphonic Scenario)
  • The Stars and Stripes Forever

Come early and grab an orchestra-themed kit that will be passed out to the first 150 guests. Parking will be available at Pebble Hill and at Auburn Bank’s Burton Street Deck. There is plenty of space for guests to bring a blanket and/or chairs to spread out and enjoy the concert in person! Come out to enjoy a lovely spring evening in Auburn! “Orchestra on the Hill” is FREE, family-friendly and open to the public.
